So it has finally happened. I decided it was time to get my torn labrum repaired! It's been about a year now suffering from limited movment, pain and just general iritation since my initial injury.
I had the wonderful opportunity to finally come to the point about 2 months ago when working out was just not going to make anything better. I spent plenty of time in physical therapy as well as working out hard on my own to try and avoid the inevitable.
Three months ago I finished up my stint with the 300DC group, portraying King Leonidas for the final time in Atlanta. I had got myself into the best shape of my life, 189 pounds and about 5% body fat!
I had worked long and hard to be able to get to this stage in my life and was pretty proud of myself, being 41 years old!So onto the surgury. I fell a bit off the wagon prior to the actual surgury due to increased pain and discomfort in my shoulder. I had trouble keeping the intensity and the level I was at with programs such as Insanity from Beachbody. Much to my dismay I had to slow things down a bit. This also came at an unfortunate time...the holidays! Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years! All reasons to fall off the fitness and nutrition wagon in their own right, but being already injured, I had no real way to fight back after the holiday splurge.
On January 4th I got the shoulder surgury done and was unable to do anything physical at all for two weeks. I just recently started to implement more cardio only routines that do not require the use of my right arm.

In addition to all this misfortune, I also needed to post up new photographs as well as a video to Beachbody for the entrance to the MDBG Grand Finale $25,000 contest! You can imagine how I felt when I had to submit this...
Now I know what some are thinking...Whats he bitching about? He looks pretty good for 41! Well, pretty good doesnt cut it for me when I looked so much better only 2 months ago!
So it's time to buck up!
I will get past this situation and heal, then I will get serious and hit the weights again. In the meantime, I will continue to watch my nutrition closely, take my Shakeology everyday and keep hitting the cardio everyday!
